As the old saying goes, “If you want something done right you have to do it yourself.” So when Mercedes-Benz went searching for a replacement for the now-discontinued SLS AMG®, the only solution was to rely on the experience and expertise of its own AMG® tuning vision. The result is a beautifully crafted sports car built from the ground up to deliver a driving experience wholly unique to the Mercedes-Benz brand.
For 2017, Mercedes-Benz introduced a “base” model with a detuned version of the turbocharged V8. There’s also a new AMG® Aerodynamics package. Whether you choose the new 2017 Mercedes-AMG® GT or the original Mercedes-AMG® GT S, one thing is certain: this is the new face of high-performance luxury.

Drive & Handling
The Mercedes-AMG® GT is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 456 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. Helping the driver make the most of the engine’s power is a 7-Speed AMG® SPEEDSHIFT® dual-clutch transmission that can shift faster than any person, as well as adaptive suspension and an AMG® Drive Control system, which provide adjustability for all sorts of driving conditions.
The Mercedes-AMG® GT S features the same engine, but turned to produce 503 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. An optional AMG® Dynamic Plus Package sharpens things up even further with dynamic engine and transmission mounts, a widened power band, other handling tweaks, and an AMG® Performance steering wheel to harness all of it.

AMG® DYNAMIC SELECT
Tailor your driving experience with the twist of a knob. You can adjust the throttle maps, gear changes, and more with selectable driving modes from Comfort to Sport+, or customize an individual mode of your own. The driving modes can also tune the optional adaptive suspension and AMG® Performance exhaust.
Touchpad COMAND®
With an 8.4-inch screen and intuitive touchpad, COMAND® offers access to a suite of entertainment and navigation features as well as available Internet-based apps. The exclusive AMG® menu provides key vehicle metrics, including turbo boost, oil temperature, speed, and gear selection, so you can stay in sync with your vehicle.
Individualized luxury
Personalize your Mercedes-AMG® GT inside and out. The interior features hand-fitted upholstery with a variety of trim options for the console and more, while the exterior can be customized with your choice of six wheel designs, gloss or matte paint, and three styling packages.
