Entry-Level Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan Arriving in 2018

Twenty years ago, Mercedes-Benz introduced its A-Class compact car to the world. Initially, the company only made the A-Class as a hatchback and declined to sell the model in the United States. But now, after all these years, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its newest variant of the A-Class: an entry-level sedan designed to appeal to American buyers.

Designed to appeal to millennials

Those who have seen the A-Class describe the model as youthful, technologically advanced, and perfectly positioned to meet the needs of the Millennial generation. Mercedes-Benz is building the vehicle on the MFA2 platform, a derivative of the original Modular Front Architecture.

What to expect in 2018

Though information on the particulars of its design is limited now, the Mercedes-Benz Concept A (pictured) offered a preview of what we can expect in the A-Class when it comes to the market in the fall of 2018. Sensual and pure with reduced lines, the Concept A sports a shorter hood and taller roof to give more space for those inside. Affixed to the front is the Panamericana grille with, of course, the iconic Mercedes-Benz logo.

If the Concept A is any indication, the A-Class will be small and powerful, lithe and strong. This sedan should slot below the CLA four-door coupe in terms of price.
