Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 Named to Car and Driver's '10Best Trucks and SUVs' List

The Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 features a new dynamic exterior and a revised, luxurious interior. Indeed, the 2017 GLS has been extensively refreshed from its previous iteration as the “GL.”

Outside, the focus has been placed on a redesign of the front end, while the rear has been modernized around the bumper with full LED taillamps. The power to go where you want

The GLS sees increased performance across the model lineup, from the GLS 450 (equipped with a 362 horsepower, 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine) to the GLS 550 (powered by a 4.7-liter V8 biturbo engine that generates 449 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque).

All versions of the Mercedes-Benz GLS now feature a 9G-TRONIC® nine-speed automatic transmission, excluding the AMG® GLS 63, and all models come equipped with standard 4MATIC® all-wheel drive with a 50:50 torque split between the front and rear wheels, which gives the GLS greater road performance.

When it’s time to venture off road, the vehicle's standard AIRMATIC® air suspension can raise the SUV to provide up to 12.5 inches of ground clearance, making short work of even the toughest obstacles.
