Overview
The sumptuously-appointed Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet not only offers a beautifully designed interior and breathtakingly classic exterior, it also hosts a bevy of comfort and technology features that lend themselves perfectly to life with a convertible. Open the soft top to the sky or encase your passengers under a tailored canopy to protect your cargo from the elements.
Starting at $54,700 MSRP,* the C-Class Cabriolet is available in five discrete models, starting with the C 300 and elevating to the C 300 4MATIC, AMG C 43, AMG C 63, and the AMG 63 S.
Drive & Handling
A 2.0-liter inline-four turbo propels the C-Class with 255 horsepower, paired with a Mercedes-Benz 9G-TRONIC 9-speed transmission. If your commute consists mostly of highway miles, you’ll be pleased to find the C-Class Cabriolet can achieve 29 miles per gallon, and if you are a city driver darting from stop to stop, you'll appreciate a respectable 21 miles per gallon in the city.
Need to get going quickly? The C-Class Cabriolet jumps from 0 to 60 in 6.1 seconds. And in tight spaces, it can turn in a 36.8-foot circle, curb to curb. For maximum efficiency, an ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine whenever you come to a stop to save fuel and reduce emissions, such as at a stoplight or in heavy traffic. Shift paddles add a sporty driving option for even more control.
DYNAMIC SELECT, which is offered as a standard feature, is a multi-mode drive program that allows you to choose from four modes—ECO, Comfort, Sport, and Sport+—based on the desired throttle response, shift points, and steering effort. You can even choose purely manual shifting with the "Individual" mode.
Design & Comfort
Imagine choosing your C-Class Cabriolet from a rainbow of 11 striking exterior colors and 12 interior seating textile and leather options. Mercedes-Benz calls the C-Class “aggressively elegant,” and that applies as equally to the C 300 with its standard grille design as it does to the AMG models with their chrome diamond-block grilles. Mercedes-Benz makes it easy to add comfort touches as you desire, like heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and 64-color LED ambient lighting, and illuminated front door sills. A head-up display and panorama roof are optional, as well.
Safety
C-Class standard options include Pre-Safe®, emergency automatic braking with pedestrian detection, and crosswind assist. Optional safety additions like lane centering, evasive steering assist, steering-responsive headlights, high beam assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitoring emergency automatic braking with cross-traffic detection, lane keep assist, active lane change assist, active emergency stop assist, active speed limit assist, a surround-view camera system, and rear cross-traffic alert can be added easily. Like the idea of self-parking? That’s available, too.
Mercedes-Benz is up to date with the latest driver-assist technology, including ATTENTION ASSIST®, the first system of its kind. ATTENTION ASSIST is your safety guardian when on the road and monitors your driving behavior. If it detects signs of fatigue behind the wheel, like a change in steering behaviors and tactical errors based on your normal behaviors, it issues an alert. This groundbreaking system monitors up to 70 driving parameters, measured on the patterns of the drivers themselves.
In addition, the Car-to-X Communication system automatically keeps you apprised of potential dangers, like when an approaching vehicle has its hazard flashers activated or even windshield wipers engaged. Other drivers with Car-to-X will be alerted via in-dash visual displays or audio announcements, which means you are more likely to avoid a crash.
Technology
A 7.0-inch center display with a controller and a 7.0-inch instrument panel display both come standard on the C 300, as well as Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™, and dual USB ports. You may choose to upgrade to a 12.3-inch instrument panel display for your C 300, and you’ll also have the option to add a 64-color ambient lighting system, navigation system, head-up display, wireless phone charging, a Burmester® audio system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The Mercedes me connect app gives you remote access to your car with a Mercedes-Benz exclusive mobile app. Remote Start, door locking/unlocking, and a locator to mark your parking space make it easy for you to manage your vehicle from afar; vehicle monitoring and stolen vehicle tracking also help you protect your vehicle.
Alternative Options
Ready for the next size up in a convertible? Try the S-Class Cabriolet; it's roomy and sleek and packing 463 hp with a 4.0-liter V8 engine. If you love the shape of the C-Class but prefer a hardtop, the C-Class Coupe offers a buttoned-up aerodynamic look that glides everywhere it goes.
