While hybrid vehicles have long had the edge over their gasoline counterparts when it comes to performance and efficiency, equating them with luxury has always been a little difficult—until now. The new Mercedes-Benz AMG® CLS, set to be revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show this November, marks a big step forward for both the automaker and the luxury hybrid segment as a whole.
What we know about the new CLS so far
This new hybrid version of the renowned sports coupe will be placed around the CLS 63 in terms of performance. The vehicle will use the three-liter, straight-six AMG® engine (found in over 40 other Mercedes-Benz models) in combination with a 50kW electric motor.
The hybrid drivetrain is anticipated to produce an aggressive 450 horsepower. Paired with the vehicle's electric torque-filling ability, the new CLS is set to be at the top of its class in terms of overall performance. Mercedes-Benz of Silver Spring is eagerly anticipating its upcoming reveal and release and hopes that you are, too.
